KG is showcasing a classic from its extensive product portfolio at this year\u2019s German Road and Transportation Congress organised by the German Road and Transportation Research Association (FGSV): the surface-active, reactive additive Colzuphalt\u00ae.<\/p>\n<p>Here, the low-viscosity Colzuphalt\u00ae at room temperature is used as an additive directly at the asphalt mixing plant or as a prefabricated binder in asphalt production. The paving temperature of the asphalt mix can be lowered by<br \/>\nup to 30 \u00b0C.<\/p>\n<p>Working with the low-temperature asphalt produced in this way yields numerous advantages in terms of climate and environmental protection or occupational safety:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The concentration of vapours and aerosols is minimised<\/li>\n<li>Lowering the temperature of the asphalt saves energy during production of the asphalt mix<\/li>\n<li>At the same time, CO\u2082 emissions are reduced \u2013 with a positive effect on the overall energy balance<\/li>\n<li>As Colzuphalt\u00ae is a surface-active additive, it does not change the binder properties according to TL Bitumen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cWhile environmental and climate protection have only become more important in road construction in recent years, our company has been offering this product to its customers for decades \u2013 thus helping to conserve resources,\u201d explains Stefaan Haerinck, Sales Manager Road Construction at the dga Group.<\/p>\n<p>The use of Colzuphalt\u00ae has been tried and tested for years on many exposed traffic routes, especially bridge decks.
