Update on price adjustments due to the current global Situation – April 2026
Dear business partners,
Dear clients,
In this letter, we would like to give you a further update regarding our pricing communication dated 19th March 2026. Unfortunately, the initial hope that this would be a short-lived crisis has not come true. Instead, it is likely that the effects of the current global economic developments will continue for several more months. As a result, the international market situation remains exceptionally volatile and exhibits considerable uncertainty.
To maintain security of supply and the same level of service you have come to expect in the third and fourth quarters, we are forced to procure additional quantities of raw materials at significantly higher prices than those originally estimated in March. For this reason, we are compelled to introduce a further surcharge on all deliveries from 1st July 2026. For products with a bitumen content of > 90 %, the adjustments will take effect from 1st June 2026. With immediate effect, products containing solvents will have a price validity of one month only. For all marking products, adjustments will take effect from 1st July 2026.
We would also ask you to plan with a long-term perspective. Due to supply volumes that are currently difficult to predict, delivery times of 8 to 12 weeks are to be expected for certain items. It is particularly important to us that these changes are transparent and easy for you to understand. The surcharges do not fully reflect the increase in raw material costs, which in some cases is significantly higher than the adjustments we are passing on. The delivery date determines the price adjustment, not the order date. Contract volumes and project contracts are excluded from this.
In addition, we are compelled to introduce a further level to the diesel surcharge per pallet delivered, which was introduced on 1st April 2026, for shipments of up to five pallets. This surcharge is shown separately on the invoices and is adjusted monthly.
As soon as the situation on the international markets eases and the cost structures become more stable, we will, of course, reduce the surcharges we have imposed. Depending on stock levels, this may take some more time. The situation is not expected to ease until the fourth quarter of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027 at the earliest.
We thank you for your understanding and your trust during this challenging market situation. Should you have any queries, your usual contacts will be happy to assist you at any time.
Best regards,
Dortmunder Gußasphalt GmbH & Co. KG
